This piece evokes the imagery of a giant dandelion. Fireflies burst out of the center symbolizing the seeds of the dandelion puff and shadowy figures represent the leaves. It's a piece about light coming out of darkness and the relationship between the two. It's titled "The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars" because a dandelion flower is yellow like the sun, then transforms into a white globe like the moon, then you blow the seeds and make a wish and they disperse into the sky like the stars. It is a reminder to find magic and awe in the natural world and to appreciate the small moments of life. The tradition of blowing the seeds to be carried by the wind here becomes a powerful metaphor for sending love and joy out into the world.
